Getting Started video for new Bailey owners

Bailey will be supplying a new "Getting Started" video to new owners as part of an updated caravan information pack. It is particularly targeted at first time buyers to give them a better understanding of the operation of their vehicle and ultimately a more enjoyable holiday.

This ten minute presentation covers the basic exercises of getting the caravan ready for the journey, hitching the car to the caravan and setting the caravan up for use upon arrival at site. It is intended to be used in conjunction with the Caravan Owners Manual which contains comprehensive operational instructions for the caravan as well as the relevant health and safety guidelines.

The video developed in conjunction with leading Caravan Writer Doug King and his wife Brenda, and shot at the Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park, will be supplied with all new Bailey Caravans built from 1st September 2010 onwards (2011 VIN vehicles).

The new video is part of a Bailey initiative to simplify the information currently supplied with the Company's products. Whilst many experienced caravanners are very familiar with the basic operation of their vehicle, it is sometimes easy to forget that a caravan is a very technical product and using it for the first time can be quite daunting.

Consequently Bailey has looked to streamline the amount of information it provides with the caravan and to improve the clarity of its product literature. As a result, each model range also now has unique Owners and Service Manuals containing details only of the components relating to that particular product - avoiding the frustration of having to bypass non-relevant chapters. In addition all supplementary manuals on individual appliances, traditionally supplied with the caravan, have been removed and can now be found as PDF files in the Brochure and Handbook section of the main company web site (address as above).

Bailey to launch range of dedicated caravan bedding

In recent years Bailey has lead the field in fixed bed caravan design, being the first UK manufacturer to bring ground-breaking new layouts such as the Senator Indiana and Senator California to market. Such has been the popularity of these models that they have been replicated across the Bailey portfolio and as a consequence caravans featuring a double fixed bed now account for in excess of 60% of annual production.

In response to the continued demand for this type of layout, Bailey is introducing its own bespoke caravan bedding sets to complement these models in the new Unicorn range. Bailey Unicorn - First for safety and first for security

Built with practicality in mind the soon-to-be-launched limited edition Unicorn range will be supplied with the latest safety and security equipment to ensure that the caravan will remain both safe on the road and secure on site.

As with all current Alu-Tech ranges Unicorn will include the AL-KO ATC Trailer Control system as standard specification; which when combined with the existing AL-KO AKS 3004 stabiliser and AL-KO shock absorbers will facilitate trouble-free towing.

The ATC operates in a similar to the ESP systems in cars, in that it permanently controls the driving behaviour of the caravan. Through the use of lateral acceleration sensors the ATC control electronics are able to detect sideways movements and will apply the caravan brakes accordingly to ensure that the towing outfit returns to a stable driving state again.

Bailey responds to Swift Group tyre statement

Tyre quality as well as the condition in which they are kept, most notably through the maintenance of the correct air pressure, is a key element of trailer safety.

Bailey has fitted the premium quality Maxxis Trailermax tyre on all of its Models since November 2001. This is a dedicated trailer tyre that has been designed specifically for the caravan market.

Since its introduction nine years ago it has delivered an excellent record of performance and has not suffered from the technical issues that the lower quality tyres fitted by some manufacturers have experienced during the same period.

Bailey also took the decision several years ago to add the 10% extra load factor over the MPTLM into its tyre calculations, however it felt that it was unwise to publish this fact to the public as it may encourage them to overload their caravans.
