Can you buy small 4 berth caravans?

Can anyone recommend a small 4 berth caravan, make and model. We bought a 2 berth that fits perfect on our drive way. It's a Swift Corniche 14/2 full lenght 19. feet but the children now need sleeping space but I can't go any bigger unless I look into storage which is the last resort.I need one with bunk beds perhaps, but would like to keep a small bathroom. We are fairly new to caravan and it suited us in the begining as they were only babies. Can you advise me on what to look for please.
Thank you very much.

The first thing I would suggest is that you purchase some caravan magazines, something like Practical Caravan or alike. They are published monthly and they all have a section in the backing detailing models of all the caravan manufacturers. They give details of layouts and all the specifications for each of their caravans.

Buying a caravan can be expensive and is down to personal preference. It is really important that you have a look in person before you commit to buying. Once you have found a caravan which has the layout and size that you like, I would suggest that you visit a dealer that sells that particular model, so that you can make sure that it is suitable for your needs.

Small 4 Berth Caravans

We have a 4 berth Lunar Chateau 400 which is only 13'4" long but is a comfortable space for 4 people. This is our first caravan and is a great way to learn the ropes without worrying about towing a 'monster'.

It has two seating areas that both convert to double beds and has a small toilet area with a toilet and basin that does not take up too much room.

We have owned this caravan for 4 years and have enjoyed many holidays in it.

It is in perfect condition, but we are sad to say that is for sale for economic reasons.

If you are interested in getting some more details, or would just like to ask more questions about caravanning in general, feel free to email me on

We own a 1994 Adria Optima 400B, which a 14ft 4-berther (the front sofa area converting to a double bed, the rear dining table and seat the third bed, and the cupboard above it folding down to form a fourth bunk bed suitable for a child).

It is only 900kg laden weight so can easily be towed by a Peugeot 207/Vauxhall Astra-sized car.

We have since seen more modern versions of this handy, compact lay-out on our travels. Therefore, if you want an ideal small 4-berth caravans this is the style of lay-out that you ought to be hunting down in brochures and asking after at showrooms.
