Caravan Build Quality?

I am considering joining the Caravan fraternity but would like some advice on caravan build quality. I am assuming that caravans are bit like cars in as much as you get certain brands that are known for the quality of their products and the materials they use (e.g. VW, Audi, BMW etc). I am not looking to go premium here but likewise don't want to end up buying a lemon. I need a 4 to 6 berth 'van at about 1300kg MTPLM with decent build quality and spec. I can spend up to £15k. Thanks.
Manufacturers rely on build quality to sell their vans. Hence the quality of caravans is much better than they used to be. I would suggest that you start by buying some caravan magazines. Most will do a feature on certain models and write a review on what they think. All the magazines have a list of caravans made by all the manufacturers and list all the weights etc.
Once you have found a caravan you like, try and find a dealer local to you and go and have a look at it in the flesh. Just remember that you make sure it is exactly what you want before parting with your money.
