3 Way Fridge
by Malcolm
(Kent)
I have just purchased a Bailey Ranger 380/2 which has on board a 3 way fridge. My towbar has two lots of electric plugs. I was told one is for the back lights of the caravan, and the other to run any electrics inside the caravan whilst towing. When I switch the fridge on, no light comes on. Is there something to do to activate this? Any help gratefully received... Basically, the 12N socket(black) controls the indicators, brake lights, side lights and fog lamp. The 12S socket(grey) controls the reversing lights, battery charger and refrigerator supply.
Once you have connected the grey socket, all you have to do to run the fridge is to set the fridge setting to the 12v setting. Now when you start you tow vehicle, your fridge will work.

Can Power Surge Stop Fridge Working Electrically?
by Bryce
(Ayrshire)
We think a power surge stopped our fridge working although the green light still comes on, it still gets power but doesn't get cold. It does still work with the gas. Is there a reset button or something and how do you get into it?
The same thing happened to our friends. Although they could operate their fridge on gas, it did not work when connected to the mains. In the end they had to have the fridge element change and now it works perfectly. Your local dealer should be able to fix this for you.

Fridge Works On Gas But Not On 240 Mains
My fridge will work on the gas mode but it will not work on 240 mains. The green light is on and this tells me there is power to the fridge. Please can you advise what might be the problem.
A friend of ours had a similar problem and when he took his caravan back to the dealer, they advised that it was a faulty element on the fridge. They changed the element and now his fridge works fine. I would advise that you take your caravan back to your local dealer and ask them if that is the cause of your problem and if so ask them to rectify it.

Bailey Ranger 500/5 Thetford fridge
by Pat
The Thetford Fridge in my Bailey Ranger 500/5 isn't cooling on either Gas,230V or 12V. The gas is lighting and the needle indicator is well up in the green zone but it isn't cooling. When I try the fridge on gas the outside vents seem to be hotter than normal. Is there any DIY repair suggestions or is it a dealer job?
We always advise that when dealing with gas or electric, you should get someone qualified to look at it. I would therefore ask your local dealer to sort it out for you. It could be a problem with the element or thermostat in the fridge.

Lunar Meteor Fridge
The fridge in my caravan is working but does not get cold. Please does anyone have any ideas what could be the problem?
You could have a problem with the thermostat. You will need to take your caravan to your local dealer and ask them to check it out.

Fridge Not Working On 240v

My fridge has stopped working on 240v. The lights are still on but it is not cooling. Do you have any idea what the problem could possibly be? Thanks

Electrolux 3 way Fridge RM 4200
by Tony Johnson
(Redditch)
The fridge in my caravan works OK on gas and mains electricity but does not work when switched to battery when on the move. Does anyone know what is wrong with it?
To operate the fridge whilst on the move, you must have plug a 12S Supplementary Socket wired to your car. Into this you need to insert the grey plug from your caravan. The 12S socket will operate your reversing lights on your caravan, run your fridge and the auxillary battery charger.

Fridge not working
by Mags Greig
(West Lothian)
Our fridge in our 2003 Elddis Odyssey has always worked perfectly until this time out - switched it on as per usual but simply didn't work - my husband has checked the fuses and circuit breakers - everything appears fine - there's no leakage of coolant, no peculiar smells, all appears fine - any other ideas as to what it might be before we go for a very costly replacement? Could it be a loose wire or automatic cut out? Grateful thanks for any suggestions!
It might simply be the element. These can be changed but should be done by a professional. I would advise that you take your caravan to your local dealer and ask them to check it out for you.

No Gas Opperation on Fridge on Bailey Pageant
by Ray
(France)
My fridge works ok on 12v and on 240v but won't fire up on gas. I can hear the piezo clicking but the gas does not light.
Check the manifold to make sure that the valve to the fridge is open also check that you have sufficient gas in your bottle. Each gas appliance has a seperate valve. The manifold is normally located in a base unit or at the bottom of the oven (pan draw). If this does work, I would advise that you have it check out by a qualified gas engineer.

The LED lights have stopped working the manual says there is a sensor? Where is it and how can I check it? Thanks
There is a very good Bailey dealership in Haverhill called M&M Leisure on Sturmer Road. Just ask for Leon or Graham and they will be able to give you all the advice that you need.
