Caravan Hand Brake Tip

Many caravanners, particularly those just starting out, are not aware that a caravans hand brake is ineffective in preventing the caravan rolling backwards. Never reply on the hand brake, always choc it.

Using the wife to guide you up a leveller can be a stressful time for her and lead to some sharp words! Not the best way to start a trip away. My tip is to use a hydraulic scissor jack called a Ko-Jack. Part of this kit is a bracket with a spirit level fitted and bolted to the caravan chassis for the jack to locate in. Just jack up the caravan, slide in the levelling block and job done!
