My caravan indicator light on the near side doesn't work. The warning buzzer works as normal though but no flashing from the bulb. I have checked the bulb which seems ok. All other lights work as normal.
Firstly clean the connection and replace the bulb. If this does not work I would suggest that you check the wiring on your black plug on your caravan. You may have a loose connection. The wiring should be as follows:
1 Yellow - left indicator
2 Blue - Caravan fog light
3 White - Earth
4 Green - Right indicator
5 Brown - Right hand tail light
6 Red - Stop lights
7 Black - Left hand tail light/number plate
If you are not happy to do this yourself, you can either ask a qualified electrician or take your caravan to your local dealer and ask them to check the wiring for you.

The reverse lights are not working when towing. Fault on car or caravan?
The reversing lights will only work if you have the supplementary 12S (Grey) socket fitted to your tow car. The 12N (Black) socket only operates the lights and indicators, whereas the additional 12S socket operates the refrigerator supply, reversing lights, battery charger and sensing device.

I have an Abbey GTS caravan, which when last used at the end of last season was fine, now the road lights are not working correctly, the brake lights don't come on when braking and they flash when the indicators are on, I have renewed the black plug that goes into the car tow point, but this has made no difference. The car electrics are Ok as my trailer lights work perfectly.
I would suggest that you check the wiring on your black plug on your caravan. You may have a loose connection. The wiring should be as follows:

2 Blue - Caravan fog light
3 White - Earth
4 Green - Right indicator

My caravan interior lights and fridge do not work. There is definitely power in the caravan as the sockets work. Not sure what to do! Can anyone help? Best regards, Richard Wild
The first thing to do is to check your fuses in the fuse box. If any are blown change them like for like. If you find nothing wrong with the fuse, I would advise that you ask your local dealer to have a look.

My lights blew in caravan and now won't work. I have changed the bulbs and the fuse. The water pump works off battery ok but lights won't. Its an ABI Monza Mk2.
Not sure of the wiring system for the ABI Monza, but you might find that there is an in-line 15A fuse that needs replacing. If you follow the wires from the positive terminal (red) on your caravan battery you should find it. Once you have found it, replace it with a new one and see if that works.
Has anyone out there got any suggestion to help?

Our main ceiling light in our caravan has started blowing the fuse, and I can't locate a wiring plan. Can anyone possibly help with this please? Thanks, Ali.
Your best bet would be to contact Hobby caravans direct. On their website you will find a telphone number and their email details. Their website address is www.hobbycaravansuk.co.uk
We have bought a 1980's Elddis caravan and have the following problem - All the inside plug sockets work but not the lights and we don't know why. Please can you help.
Firstly check that the 12V switch is on the ON position on your control panel. If that does not work, find your fuse box and check the light fuses and change if necessary (like for like).

I have no nearside lights at all that come on in my caravan. I have checked fuses in the caravan and connection from car and all seems good. Have 12 volts coming into caravan but only about 4 to offside lights and less as you work your way around the caravan! Any ideas please? Thanks.
If as you say, all the fuses and connections are ok, I would advise that you check the actual bulbs on each light and change them if need be. If this is not the problem, ask your dealer to check your electrics at your annual service.
I have a 1997 abi dalesman and I would like to know how the awning light cover comes off, as it has no visible screws.
If it is the same as my old Monza, it should just prise off. You must be very careful when doing this as they can be quite brittle.

I have just upgraded to an Elddis Wisp 450ct, which is my second caravan and I am still very much a novice. I have found the interior lights do not work with the switch in it's central position with the caravan on 240v hookup. However if I move the switch to caravan battery they do work. Is this working correctly by design or should I be looking for a faulty fuse. THANK YOU for any advice in advance. Robbie
your lights in the caravan should run off the 12v system (i.e off the battery).
Do you know an easy way of applying beam benders?
Last year I bought these, and could not work out how to fit them. The instructions that come with them have diagrams showing nearly every car made. But the written instructions are poor. My vehicle is a 1998 Fiat Ducato with the patterns on the glass. I was away in France last year for nearly five weeks and even though I took the things out regularly, they never got fitted, this year with six weeks in Italy planned, I think that I really must get to grips with them. Thanks in advance for any tips that you may offer.

Not sure I can help on this. I should try your nearest Fiat garage. They should be able to advise you on the correct fitting method.
The outside light above the door on my Swift Conqueror 580 Lux has stopped working. How do I get the cover off to check the bulb ?
There should be a lug somewhere on the edge of the cover which you can insert a small screw driver to prise it off. Be careful though so not to damage it.

Does anyone happen to know - Is it a legal requirement to have a bleeper or dashboard light fitted for when towing a caravan? Many thanks for your help.
When we had our first towbar fitted, the mechanic told me that the beeper was a must have because without it, you would not know if your indicators were working.

Does anyone know where I can get some bulb holders for 1997 Avondale Cheviot Leda caravan rear lights please?
Your best bet would be to contact a caravn breakers yard. Most offer a mail order service, so everything can be done on the phone. A list of breakers can be found on our website or you could search the internet to see if there is one local to you.

We have just purchased a used Bailey Ranger model 380/2. It is in good order, but we have noticed that the indicators look very 'pale' instead of the correct amber colour. Does anyone know if the indicator bulbs are coloured or will we need to purchase new lens'. also is the bulb an offset pin type. Thanks.
From memory, I don't think that the bulbs are coloured and I cannot remember if they are screw in or the bayonent type. If you ask your local caravan dealer, they should be able to supply you with the correct bulbs etc.

The brake lights and indicators work ok but none of the side lights or rear tail lights work. I have replaced both sockets on the car and both plugs on the van but still lights not working. Fuses are ok and 12 volt supply is present at the other end of the multicore cable inside the caravan, but drops to zero when either of the 5amp fuses, one for L/H side and one for R/H side is inserted into it`s holder. There is nothing else fed from these fuses according to the electrical drawing. Has anyone had a similar problem or any suggestions please.
I think the best thing you can do here, is to ask your local caravan dealer or a mobile caravan mechanic to have a look at it for you. They should be able to tell you what exactly is wrong.

Please could you tell me how do you remove the cover on a Bailey Pageant caravan's awning light?
Many thanks for any help or advice you can give me regarding this.
Looking at the cover, there seems to be no easy way of removing it. However, if you a small thin blade screw driver, gently insert it at the top left hand side of the cover and slowly prise forward. Once there is a small gap, do the same for the right hand side and then the same for the bottom. You must be really carefully but the cover should then come away.
I have a 1995 Coachman VIP caravan and I'm not sure what type of bulb the awning light needs. I bought one but it doesn't fit.
Your local cravan dealer should be able to tell you what you need. Or you could phone a Coachman dealer and they should definitely be able to tell you.

I have a Bailey senator a Vermont 2000 model, when connecting to car for towing no power to any lights etc car checked at Mercedes main dealer and power is to car socket and no further have tried new connector single to dual outlet, any thoughts please or is there a main fuse I could check
I had a similar problem and changed the in-line fuse but to no joy. I then called the guy who fitted my tow bar and he told me to check the car's fuses to make sure they were all okay. I did that and found one that had blown, so I changed it and everything worked fine after that.
I need to change the bulb in my caravan awning light. Please can you advise on how to remove the cover as, at present, I can see no easy way of doing it!

How do I remove the tail light bulb after removing the lens cover. I can't see any obvious way that the bulb comes away from the holder. Many thanks for your help.
I think these just pop off. Have a look round the lens to see if there is a lug or something and using a cloth and small flat head screw try prising it off at the lug. Be carefull not to scratch your caravan though.
