Top Caravanning Holidays in the UK
Caravanning holidays are one of the most popular ways to take a holiday
in the UK. Whether you want to visit the tip of Scotland or the far west
of Cornwall there will be a holiday park that is just right for you and
the family. Many people enjoy the luxury of their own touring caravan
whilst others prefer to use the static caravans offered by sites.
A short walk from the beach at Pendine Sands in Wales is a lovely
holiday park which is surrounded by beautiful countryside and coastal
scenery as well as being within a short driving distance of Tenby. Tudor
Glen Park stands in the Pembrokeshire National Park in the far south
west of Wales. The coastline here
is some of the best in the world and the small towns and villages inland
offer a friendly welcome to one and all.
At Hampshire's Hayling Island is a holiday park which has many family
attractions and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Further inland,
Green Pastures Farm is a family run site set in the heart of the New
Forest at Brockenhurst. Quiet and secluded, the site is close to several
small towns and villages and there is no shortage of pubs. Children
will enjoy seeing the New Forest ponies that roam wild.
If you head east to Cherry Tree Holiday park near Great Yarmouth you
will be able to explore the stunning Norfolk Broads from here. Lovely
uncrowded beaches are only a few minutes away too.
Scotland is surprisingly popular as a caravanning destination and
Southerness Holiday Park at Dumfries is set in a lovely position on the
cliffs overlooking the wide beach. It is an ideal spot from which to
tour the beautiful countryside of this part of south west Scotland.
If you want to go even further north, head for Grannie's Heilan Hame
Holiday Park in Dornich in Sutherland. This is an ideal spot from which
to explore the Scottish Highlands and there are many nearby local
attractions.
Moreton in the Marsh is a wooded site in Gloucestershire. The family
will enjoy the quiet of the site whilst at the same time be able to
enjoy the many activities that go on in and around the area such as
walking, cycling and hang gliding.
St Ives Bay Holiday Park is situated right on the beach at St Ives. This
popular little town boasts its Tate Gallery and is close to other
attractions in Cornwall such as the Eden Project and Lands End. The park
provides entertainment for families.
Ladycross Plantation Touring Park is located on the North Yorkshire
Moors and is ideally situated for touring the moors and nearby Whitby,
famous for its black rock known as Whitby Jet.
Holidays in the UK are a popular choice for many people and long weekend
breaks have almost become a way of life. Not everyone enjoys the
confines of a hotel and caravanning and camping, whether using the best Coleman
tents or indeed something a little more modest allows the freedom to explore at will.

Why do you like or dislike this caravan site?
I would like to draw your attention to one of the most pleasant camp sites I've ever had the pleasure of staying on. This site is in Holland, about four miles from Oosterbeek and five miles from Arnhem. It is situated within the most beautiful woodland and is surrounded by mighty oaks. The site is run by Margo and Felix, with help from their family. The facilities cater well for children of all ages with sand pits, bicycles and go-carts, disabled facilities are superb and everything is beautifully clean. Their English is fantastic and they are very welcoming. For some strange reason, the Dutch love the Brits. A good time to visit is during the annual celebrations in September, of the battle of Arnhem.

Why do you like or dislike this caravan site?
I would highly recommend Daisy Bank Caravan Touring Park. I have been to this park many, many times and now store my caravan there. The owners, Niki and Mark, are so friendly! It is a five star, adults only site and is so peaceful with fabulous views. Walk in wet-rooms too!
Dogs are allowed and there is a designated dog walk. Fabulous pubs in Bishops Castle (The Three Tuns) and Clun (The Sun) which does very reasonable, good food. Wonderful walks nearby in wooded park.
You must visit - but not too many of you or else I won't be able to get a pitch!! Happy Hols.
