Problems With Bailey Ranger Toilet
by Alan Martin
(Vale of Glamorgan)
I have a problem with the swivel bowl / electric flush Thetford toilet in my 2009 Bailey Ranger GT60 400/4 caravan. Since new the toilet bowl has leaked fluid into the waste tank cabinet. A new seal has been fitted by the authorised repair agent but the problem persists. He states that no water should be left in the bowl between uses. All my previous caravans have utilised this "water seal" to reduce odours etc. We never travel with water in the bowl. It is neither a pleasant nor sanitary task mopping up the leaking fluids. Has anyone else experienced this and/or know of the cure? I have a similar toilet in my caravan and have never had any problems with it. I would advise that you take your caravan back to your local dealer and ask them to look at it. In the meantime, has anyone else had a similar problem and if so how did you resolve it?

Pink Liquid
by Steve
(Cheshire)
I have a Bailey Pageant Moselle 98 which has 2 storage tanks and an electric flush but can you tell me where I put the pink toilet liquid to use with the flush?
The flush tank is located in the locker that houses the toilet waste tank. To fill the flush tank, open the locker and you should see a small opaque tank at the top. Simply swing the tank towards you and remove the cap and fill with water and the pink toilet flush. To drain the tank, there should be a tube inside the housing, simply remove the end cap and the flush should drain out.

Non Flushing Thetford Toilet
by Margaret
(Merseyside)
We have a 2002 Swift caravan and the Thetford push button flush does not work. We have tried in vain to locate the fuse box. Please can anyone help with our problem??
The fuse is normally located in the locker that houses your cassette. Open the door on the outside of your caravan and remove the cassette and the fuse should be located somewhere at the back.

Fuse for Toilet Flush
by Gary Anderson
(Belfast, Northern Ireland)
Hi, I have just picked up an Abbey GTS 415 (92)and the only problem is toilet won't flush. The person I bought it off reckons it needs a new fuse??? I read the hand book it says it operates of the tv ariel fuse but cant find it!!!! help!!!
By the way love this site. Brilliant job.
The most likely place for your fuse to be located is inside the locker that houses your toilet cassette. If you remove your cassette, the fuse should be located at the back of the locker near the top (I think).

Toilet Problem
by Vicky
(Gwynedd)
I have a Swift caravan (Corniche) but the toilet won't flush. I want to know if anyone has had the same problem. I was thinking that it might be something to do with the electrics ??????
The most logical answer is that your fuse has blown. The fuse is usually located in the locker that houses your waste tank. If you remove the waste tank, you will see the fuse located right at the back of the locker somewhere near the top. Remove the fuse and change it like for like.

Caravan Mains Sewage Connection
by Karen
(Renfrewshire)
Many caravan sites now offer sewage connection. I am new to caravanning and wonder how this works and what accessories you need. Thanks in anticipation.
The sewage connection is for your grey water waste, i.e water from your sinks and shower. Instead feeding the waste pipes from the drain points on the side of you caravan into a wastemaster or other waste container, you simply direct them into the drain on the pitch. Please note however, you still have to empty the toilet waste tank at the Chemical Disposal Point at the Site that you are staying at and not down the drain on your pitch.

Fleetwood Colchester Toilet Trim
by Tigger
(Scotland)
I have purchased an older caravan and carrying out various repairs. One small job I want to do is replace the trim around the toilet. The existing trim is broken and discoloured and looks awful. Does anyone know where I could get new or better second hand trim?
Have you tried a caravan breakers yard? Most offer a mail order service. A list of breakers can be found on our website.

Elddis Odyssey 524 2001 Toilet System
We have just brought this caravan and the user manual really does not tell you much. Can you please tell me how you fill the toilet system with fresh water do you do it manually or does it fill from the main water pump?
Above the locker where the waste tank in housed, there should be a locable filler cap. Open that and that is where you need to fill up with your flush chemical and water. When filling with water you might find it alot easier if you use a watering can.

Can I put a Thetford Cassette Toilet in my Caravan
by Nicola
(Newcastle)
I currently only have a porta loo in my caravan. I have seen fixed toilets for sale with the little door that goes onto the side of your van so you can take your waste out from the outside, I was wondering if it is actually possible to get one of these systems fitted into my caravan.
The answer to your question is yes. Although it can be done by a competent DIYer, I would suggest that you have it done by your local dealer.
