I have a problem with the swivel bowl / electric flush Thetford toilet in my 2009 Bailey Ranger GT60 400/4 caravan. Since new the toilet bowl has leaked fluid into the waste tank cabinet. A new seal has been fitted by the authorised repair agent but the problem persists. He states that no water should be left in the bowl between uses. All my previous caravans have utilised this "water seal" to reduce odours etc. We never travel with water in the bowl.
It is neither a pleasant nor sanitary task mopping up the leaking fluids.
Has anyone else experienced this and/or know of the cure?
I have a similar toilet in my caravan and have never had any problems with it. I would advise that you take your caravan back to your local dealer and ask them to look at it. In the meantime, has anyone else had a similar problem and if so how did you resolve it?

I have a Bailey Pageant Moselle 98 which has 2 storage tanks and an electric flush but can you tell me where I put the pink toilet liquid to use with the flush?
The flush tank is located in the locker that houses the toilet waste tank. To fill the flush tank, open the locker and you should see a small opaque tank at the top. Simply swing the tank towards you and remove the cap and fill with water and the pink toilet flush. To drain the tank, there should be a tube inside the housing, simply remove the end cap and the flush should drain out.

We have a 2002 Swift caravan and the Thetford push button flush does not work. We have tried in vain to locate the fuse box. Please can anyone help with our problem??
The fuse is normally located in the locker that houses your cassette. Open the door on the outside of your caravan and remove the cassette and the fuse should be located somewhere at the back.

Hi, I have just picked up an Abbey GTS 415 (92)and the only problem is toilet won't flush. The person I bought it off reckons it needs a new fuse??? I read the hand book it says it operates of the tv ariel fuse but cant find it!!!! help!!!
By the way love this site. Brilliant job.
The most likely place for your fuse to be located is inside the locker that houses your toilet cassette. If you remove your cassette, the fuse should be located at the back of the locker near the top (I think).

I have a Swift caravan (Corniche) but the toilet won't flush. I want to know if anyone has had the same problem. I was thinking that it might be something to do with the electrics ??????
The most logical answer is that your fuse has blown. The fuse is usually located in the locker that houses your waste tank. If you remove the waste tank, you will see the fuse located right at the back of the locker somewhere near the top. Remove the fuse and change it like for like.

Many caravan sites now offer sewage connection. I am new to caravanning and wonder how this works and what accessories you need. Thanks in anticipation.
The sewage connection is for your grey water waste, i.e water from your sinks and shower. Instead feeding the waste pipes from the drain points on the side of you caravan into a wastemaster or other waste container, you simply direct them into the drain on the pitch. Please note however, you still have to empty the toilet waste tank at the Chemical Disposal Point at the Site that you are staying at and not down the drain on your pitch.

I have purchased an older caravan and carrying out various repairs. One small job I want to do is replace the trim around the toilet. The existing trim is broken and discoloured and looks awful. Does anyone know where I could get new or better second hand trim?
Have you tried a caravan breakers yard? Most offer a mail order service. A list of breakers can be found on our website.
We have just brought this caravan and the user manual really does not tell you much. Can you please tell me how you fill the toilet system with fresh water do you do it manually or does it fill from the main water pump?
Above the locker where the waste tank in housed, there should be a locable filler cap. Open that and that is where you need to fill up with your flush chemical and water. When filling with water you might find it alot easier if you use a watering can.

I currently only have a porta loo in my caravan. I have seen fixed toilets for sale with the little door that goes onto the side of your van so you can take your waste out from the outside, I was wondering if it is actually possible to get one of these systems fitted into my caravan.
The answer to your question is yes. Although it can be done by a competent DIYer, I would suggest that you have it done by your local dealer.

Hello, I don't want to use chemicals in my Thetford toilet and heard of someone using Bicarb and/or white vinegar. Does anyone have a recipe for anything to put into the cassette instead of those odious chemicals? Thanks, Jane
If you are after a non chemical solution, I would recomend that you try Blue Bio Toilet Fluid. We have tested this environmentally friendly product and it is really good. You can read our review on our website.

I have had waste leakage from my thetford cassette toilet because I failed to read the instructions properly. I have cleaned all the efected area but there is still a very strong smell of stale urine in the toilet area, do I have to take out the toilet fittings to get to the root of the problem. Ron
What I would suggest is that you remove the cassette from it's housing and give it a really good clean, then add the appropriate fluid into the cassette with a little water. Also throughly clean inside the housing itself. Also make sure you add the correct fluid into the flush for your toilet. Once everything is cleaned and aired, replace the cassette into the housing and then give the toilet a flush. Normally, this should eliminate any odours.

Please can you tell me, do I need to put pink fluid in to my electric flush toilet on a 1999 Sterling Moonstone caravan? Many thanks for your help.
I would always advise that you use the correct fluid for your toilet. The toilet flush fluid keeps the water fresh and improves the hygiene and will get rid of any unpleasant odours. You should also use the correct fluid in your toilet cassette.

The toilet flush on my caravan has stopped working. All the other appliances work. I have checked the trip and all the fuses. Is there something I have missed?
Have you checked the fuse inside the cassette compartment? There should be a fuse right at the back of the compartment.
Thanks, Tom
Hi,
The toilet flush has stopped working on my Hobby. Please can anyone advise as to what the problem might be.
Thanks.
It could be a blown fuse. The fuse is normally located in the waste cassette compartment. If you remove the cassette and look inside, at the top near the back you should find it. Try replacing the fuse and see if that works.

I have a red light that normally comes on when toilet in near full on my Bailey Ranger 460/4. It stays on when the cassette has been emptied , any ideas , please ?
The red light could indicate that the flush needs refilling. Have you tried refilling the flish and to see if the red light goes off?

We have a Lunar Lexon and the electric flush has stopped working, we have all the paperwork for the cassette toilet and there is a diagram showing all the seperate parts to the toilet and one of these is a fuse holder, I know this may be a silly question but where is this fuse and fuse holder located. Thanks
If you take out the waste cassette from it's locker, you should find it at the top rear of the of the locker.
We've got a Dethleffs caravan and can't for the life of us find where to pit the pink toilet fluid! At the moment we're just spraying the pan as we flush. Can anyone help?
Depending on whether you have a manual or electric flush will depend on the location of your resevoir. If you locate you waste cassette locker and there is a locable cap just above it (a bit like your petrol cap on a car), you need to unlock that and that is where you fill your flush tank. If you do not have one of them, open your waste cassette locker and at the top should be an arm which swings out. On top should be a cap. Unscrew the cap and fill your resevoir from there.

I have an Avondale Perle Orestes and the electrical supply to the toilet cassette compartment is dead. It is not the system in the compartment it is the supply to it. I cannot trace it back to source. Everything else on the electrical systems work fine. Any info would be appreciated. Max
Have you checked the fuse? It is located in the cassette compartment near the back at the top.
My Flush pump in my toilet has stopped working, How would I go about replacing it.?
It could be just the fuse that needs replacing. The fuse is normally located in the toilet cassette compartment. Try changing that first to see if that works.
Does anyone know how do you fill up the toilet system with water on a Lunar lx 2000 caravan 1999 model? Any help would be much appreciated.
If it is anything like our old Lunar Zenith, then you need to open the cassette compartment. At the top of the compartment, there should be an arm which swings out. On top of the arm is a cap and that is where you fill the flush from.
