I have just managed to get mine out as it could not be turned by hand. I put an old blunt screwdriver against the end of the transverse flange (handle!) where it meets the curved threaded section. I considered that this was the strongest point. Then I gently tapped the screwdriver anti-clockwise with a rubber mallet. Nothing too vicious and after a couple of minutes, little by little, it gradually loosened to the point where I could unscrew it by hand.

WATER FILTER REMOVAL by: TOM
HI ALLAN,
FILL YOUR AQUAROLL WITH HOT WATER AND RUN THROUGH THE SYSTEM, THE HEAT FROM THE WATER MIGHT EXPAND THE THREADS ON THE FILTER HEAD JUST ENOUGH TO UNSCREW.

Removing Filter by: Anonymous
I use a pair of pliers! Leave the jaws open - do not tighten them to the stuck filter - and turn anti-clockwise. Pliers are much stronger than the removal tool
