Do I need Aquaroll?

We recently purchased an Avondale Avocet 2004 model in Australia. Australian caravan parks all have town water and people just connect the hose to the caravan. Do we need to use the Aquaroll or could we get an inlet for the hose fitted to the van.

There are conflicting comments on this site - one says it is possible but another comments says
YOU CAN NOT PUT MAINS WATER PRESSURE DIRECT TO YOUR CARAVAN YOU WILL BLOW ALL YOUR PIPE FITTINGS & HAVE A RATHER WET & SOGGY CARAVAN.

Which is correct? We don't want to damage our van but it would be more convenient not to take the Aquaroll everywhere we go.

To connect up to a mains water supply point you will need to use an adapter which has a pressure reducing valve so that the mains supply will not damage the couplings in the caravan's plumbing system. They are available and your local caravan dealer should be able to advise and supply you with the correct one to fit your caravan.
