Does A Touring Caravan Need Tax, Mot etc?

I am interested in getting my first caravan for family hoidays and really don't know much about it so any advice would help? For example does a touring caravan need tax, mot etc?

At the moment, caravans do not have to be taxed. However, it is the owners responsibilty to make sure that it is roadworthy. Ideally all caravans should be serviced yearly to ensure that they are safe to use.
