I have been looking for an awning for my Swift Conqueror caravan. I have been told the Pyramid Tuscany is a very good awning. Does anyone have any feedback on this awning?
Does anyone use a Pyramid Awning that could advise the pros and cons on this awning? If so please advise and I will post the reply.

I have the opportunity to buy a second hand Dorema Sun Canopy Size 9. Does anyone know whether this will fit my Sterling Europa 570 caravan? Many thanks.
It all depends on the specific Dorema Sun Canopy model. Without know this information we cannot advise you. However, I think the awning size you require for your caravan is 980cm.

I have just purchased a sombrero bolero awning, but it has no instructions so need to work out how to erect the frame. Are there any instructions available on line.
Try the following website (www.produtools.com/d/manuals.php). It might be on there or you could try contacting the manufacture who I think is Trigano (contact.mdc@trigano.fr)

Please could you help me - my caravan awning size is 1005 cm but I bought a awning which measures 1050 cm - will this be OK? Any help would be gratefully received.
Although the 45cm is size difference does not sound alot, it is in awning size terms. The 1050cm will be too big for your caravan and would strongly recommend that you buy the correct size for your caravan.

Hey and hello. I am trying to purchase an awning for my Tabbert Comtesse Model 515 single axle. Many searches on the www have proved fruitless, sadly. Can anyone help please? I have e-mailed Tabbert in Germany and await a reply. Surely someone in the UK supplies them? Many thanks, Lizzie
I think the awning size you need is 951cm but I cannot be exactly sure without knowing the year of manufacture. However, most anwing suppliers should be able to give you the details from their database and advise you accordingly.
I have attempted to bypass the uncooperative supplier and deal with Eurovent direct but have been stone walled at every turning in attempting to find Eurovent. Can anyone advise?
The only web address I can find is www.eurovent-caravan-awning.co.uk. It might be worth a try unless anyone else can help.

Do you think it is worth buying an inner tent? My son said he was cold sleeping in our awning sovdo you think he would be any warmer in an inner tent? Thanks
To be honest it will not make that much difference. If you have an awning annex, then I would buy an inner tent for that. It will give your son his own space and should keep out any insects etc. It might be worth buying your son a thicker sleeping bag. My kids use the mummy type sleeping bags and they seem to think it keeps them warmer when they sleep in the awning.

If I change my caravan can I still use my old awning on my new caravan? My new caravan is 900 cm and my awning is 775 cm. Please could anyone help me?
The only way that you could use your old awning is if your new caravan requires the same size awning as your old caravan. As you have indicated that the awing size for your new caravan is 900cm, then your old awning of 775cm would be miles too small.

What is the best on the market awning cleaner to get rid of bird droppings and green algae on an awning. Any help with this would be appreciated.
Try looking at this website. www.care-avan.co.uk. They produce all sorts of caravan cleaning products. The sell a biodegradable awning cleaner which is supposed to be very good.

I have recently purchased a tourer caravan, and am hoping to purchase an awning, I have read your article on measuring the awning size, and was just wondering whether specific caravans require certain brands of awnings e.g. Dorema, Pyramid, Trio sport?
Your help is much appreciated.
Awning manufacturers cater for most models of caravans. So long as you have the correct size for your caravan, it should not make a difference as to what brand of awning that you purchase.

I have a Larson 775 awning for my caravan but no instructions! Can anybody help or do you know where I could get them from? Many thanks for your help.
I have found out that Isabella Awnings bought the Telt Larsen factory in 1994. Therefore, it may be worth contacting them to see if they have instructions for your awning.
Their website is http://www.isabella.net/uk/
Can anyone help Anthony with the instructions?

Very new to caravanning and we have just bought a brand new awning for our new caravan (when I say new, I mean new to us, but it a 96 model). Now, am I being really stupid by asking how we lock it up when we go out for the day or at night? Or can someone just come along and unzip it? Any advice would be appriciated!
Thank you
Nothing stupid asking about this. Basically, there is nothing at all on the market for making an awning secure.(Well, I have not seen any thing!) However, we have been caravaning for many years and we have never had any problems. In the summer, we leave our awning erected (we have a seasonal pitch)and no one has ever taken anything from inside. However, I would advise that when the awning is left unattended, that anything of value is either locked inside the caravan or is taken with you.

Just won a Dorema awning size 1009 lovely on eBay but our awning size (2002 Bailey Oklahoma) is 990-will this be ok?
I think the awning size that you need for your caravan is 987cm. However, we always advise that you double check this by measuring your caravan yourself. Full details on how to do this can be found on our website.
The 1009cm Dorema awning might be slightly too big. The correct Dorema size that you need is a size 14 (975cm to 1000cm).
But, you could always try and see if it fits okay. If it doesn't fit, you could always re-sell on ebay.

I have the opportunity of purchasing a second hand 1025cm isabella awning. Would it be a good fit for my Bailey Indiana which has an awning size quoted as 1009cm.
Many thanks
The Isabella size required for the Indiana is 1000cm. Is it possible for you to try the awning before you buy to see if it will fit OK?

Hi.
Please can you advise as to what can I spray on the zips of my awning to make them run free?
Cheers

Will an Isabella Magnum Awning fit onto my Swift Conqueror 480 (2008 model) caravan. The guy at Lowdham Caravans says that the caravan is too small, however the Isabella brochure claims that the magnum is ideal for smaller caravans.
If you were buying a full awning, I think the correct size that you would need is 918cm. However, If you want to be certain about the Isabella Magnum, I would try contacting Isabella direct. They should be able to tell you using their database if the Magnum will fit your caravan. Their website address is www.isabella.net.
We recently upgraded our caravan and bought a 2006 Ace Morningstar. A month before that we had bought a Dorema President Vario (size 13) awning, can you tell me if this would fit my new van?
The Dorema size 13 might too small. I think the awning size you need is 980cm and that would mean a Dorema size 14. However, we always advise that you double check this by measuring your caravan yourself. Full details on how to do this can be found on our website.
If you find that you do need the next size up, you might consider have your exisiting awning extended. There are companies that specialize in that and it might be a cheaper option rather than buying a new awning.

Do you happen to know whether the Dorema size 3 or size 4 awning will fit on to my 1995 Elddis Elf caravan please? Many thanks for your help with this.
I think the awning size for an Elddis Elf 330/2 is 742cm and a size 4 Dorema is 725 to 750cm. So a size 4 would fit.

Does anyone know of any companies which sell half awnings as opposed to porch awnings? Any help or information you could give would be much appreciated.
The only awning we could find which may fit the bill is made by Isabella and is called an "All-In-One" Awning. Have a look on any of the Caravan Accessory websites for the Isabella All-In-One and see if this is the one you want.
Hope this helps but if anyone can add any information, please let us know.

Hi
Happy to stipulate that I aught to be able to understand the one page picture that came with the awning, but I just don't get it. Does anybody here know of some pictures or videos that show what goes where? Thus far all I've accomplished is:
1) I've broken a few connectors and
2) I've annoyed my wife (more than usual)
I know Pyramid Products have a video on their website of how to erect an awning, which may of be some help. The website address is www.pyramid-products.com. Just click on Brochures on their home page and then you just download the video.

Hi
I have a 1050 Bradcot awning but am changing my caravan to a Series 5 Pageant which I believe is a 996cm. Will my awning fit or does it have to be the same size please?
Sorry if its a silly question but i'm new to caravanning.
Thanks
Going by the sizes you have given, you will find that your current awning will be too big for your new caravan.
If you are happy with your awning, there are companies out there that can alter awnings to make it fit or you could just buy the correct size awning.
Please can someone help - does anyone have instructions for a Trio Sombrero 800 awning which I would copy? Many thanks for any help anyone can give me ...
Can anyone help? If so please let us know and we will pass on the info.

Will an awning that has been extended to 1008 be to big for my Bailey Pageant Majestic which quotes 831/836 ?
I think the awning size that you need is 832cm, so the 1008cm will be miles to big for your caravan.
To find the correct size awning for your caravan, you could always measure your caravan yourself. Full details on how to do this can be found on our website.

We have an old Fairholme Merlin CI caravan 16ft but requires a new awning - what size or what code do we need to replace the old one? Thank you for your help.
I have researched this caravan and cannot find a Fairholme Merlin - most of the Fairholme models I have found are named after birds !!
Does anyone out there have a Fairholme Merlin and could help Heidi with the measurement?

Do you know how easy it would be to replace the awning rail on a Abbey County Croft caravan and where can I buy a replacement rail. Many thanks for your help.
Replacing the awning rail is not that difficult but can be quite messy. Firstly you have to remove all the screws that hold the rail in place. Once all the screws have been removed, gently remove the rail from the caravan. Now you have to remove all the mastic where the rail was bedded onto the caravan. After all the mastic has been removed, apply a bead of fresh mastic (Sikaflex 221) on the caravan where the new rail is to be bedded. You must also apply the mastic onto the rail itself before mounting onto the caravan. Now all you have to do is mount the rail back onto the caravan and fix in place with self-tapping screws. You should be able to obtain a rail from your local dealer.

I have bought a second hand Rapido pop-top and would like to get an awning for it. I don't mind a decent second hand one as I am retired and can't afford a great deal of money now. The caravan is 13ft from end to end, but measuring from the ground, round the channel and back on to the ground the other end is 6.200 cm. I think that this is a size 10. I would be grateful for any help or advice.
I am not sure a standard caravan awning will be suitable for you Rapido Pop-Top. You should try a specialist retailer. I know Campers and Leisure Ltd sell awnings for pop top caravans. Why not try them. Their website address is http://www.campersandleisure.co.uk or you could try Ebay.
