Onboard Heaters

Can anyone advise me on what is the best heater to run off a 12v battery only.

It would be dependant on how big a heater you want. There is quite a range out there from small fan/ceramic heaters to oil heaters. The best thing for you would be to take a trip to your local caravan dealer. They should have a range on display so you can see for yourself.
