Static Caravans

We are hoping to buy a static caravan in East/North Yorkshire with the intention of living in it permanently. We don't know what is a reasonable amount to pay for site fees, how long you can stay (10 months/12 months) whether you have to pay Council Tax or any other extras. What are the pitfalls? We have heard that at some sites, you can only sell the caravan back to the site owners.

I am not sure of the cost of site fees etc. I would suggest that you contact as many sites as you can in the area that you are thinking of settling in and ask them what they charge. I think most sites charge a flat fee for the season and then add on the cost of gas and electricity at the end.

Each site should be able to supply you with all the information that you need and by asking as many as you can, you should be able to get a much clear picture of the costs etc.
