Ingredients: (serves 4)
4 medium onions (finely sliced)
25g butter
chicken stock cube
1 tblspn white wine vinegar
Half tblspn sugar
2 slices brown toast
2 tblspn grated cheddar cheese
How to Cook:
Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the onions and cook until soft.
Add the sugar and stir until the onions are golden brown.
Add a litre of boiling water, the vinegar and stock cube.
Simmer for 15 minutes, season and serve with toast with the cheese grilled on top.
