Truma Heater

I have a Swift Charisma caravan with a Truma space heater. When I turn it on, the green light on the switch is not visible. The fan is working, however, it does not get hot. Does anyone have any ideas why?


Hi Alan,

Because the space heater runs on both gas and electric, you really need to have this looked at by a qualified professional.

My advice would be for you to book your caravan into your local dealer and ask the to sort the problem out. You should not really try sort the problem out yourself on this one.

Hi Allen
I have just got back into caravaning and just (one week ago) picked up my three year old van. I may get shot down here but I believe the fan is run off the 12 volt side of the electrics so it would still run. My 2KW heat knocks out the vans curcuit breaker when on for about half an hour but the 1KW and 500 watt heater works ok. My van has a separate breaker switch for the space heater along side the water heater switch. Does this trip when in use? If so I am afraid it will be off to your service centre unless you realy know what you are doing.
