VIN number

I have a Bessacarr Cameo 550 GL 1989 where do I find the VIN number. I need it for insurance purposes, my insurer says it should be a 17 figure number but the only number I can find is the 5 figure serial number on a plate by the entrance door.

I have searched the chassis but can not find another number.
